Simple 301 Redirects

Description

Simple 301 Redirects provides an easy method of redirecting requests to another page on your site or elsewhere on the web. It’s especially handy when you migrate a site to WordPress and can’t preserve your URL structure. By setting up 301 redirects from your old pages to your new pages, any incoming links will be seemlessly passed along, and their pagerank (or what-have-you) will be passed along with them.

Installation

  1. Upload Simple 301 Redirects to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Add redirects on the Settings > 301 Redirects page.

It Just Works

It just works right away with no confusing configuration. Start adding redirects and save them. Done.

Stopped working

Noticed problems with this plugin starting a couple of days ago abut the same time as same thing about the same time as Larry posted his report.

Thankfully we don’t have 1500 redirects to move. But for a news site this unreliability is intolerable for a simple thing such as redirects. And I don’t have time to wait to see if the developer responds.

Rating 1-star. Pity as I have used this for several years.

Stopped Working

Worked fine for a bit, but noticed this morning that several of our pages which had been 301’ed prior to a redesign were showing 404 errors. 301s seem to randomly stop working, which is totally unacceptable.

Now spending tons of hours transferring 1500 or so redirects to another plugin. Great example of poor developer support.

stopped working on WPEngine

Is there any way you can tell me how to extract all of the redirects into a CSV file?

This is a nightmare, for years this plugin works fine and BOOM begins to randomly redirect to whatever is close to the page name.

Please help

Thanks
