Upload the plugin folder to `/wp-content/plugins/auto-alt-from-filename` 2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen in WordPress 3. Go to **Settings > Alt Text Generator** to customize behavior and run the bulk processor ## FAQ ### Does this work with existing files? Yes. Use the **Mass Update** tool on the plugin settings page to apply captions/ alt text to all existing media. ### Does it generate captions for videos or PDFs? Yes. If enabled in settings, the plugin will auto-generate captions for non-image media like audio, video, and documents. ### Can I turn off automatic alt generation? Yes. You can uncheck the relevant options in the settings panel. ### Will it overwrite my existing alt text or captions? No. It only fills empty alt/caption fields and will not overwrite manually entered content. ### Does it support custom formats? Yes.
