Update Nov 07, 2009

I have not been supporting this plugin for a long long time, almost 2 years in fact. Since Christmas is round the corner, I thought I should give this plugin a nice refresh. I have updated the snow script to the latest version. Best of all, I have added a plugin settings page so it’s easier for those who are not comfortable with tweaking code.

History

In 2007, WordPress.com introduced a falling snow options for its users after Matt Mullenweg asked for a falling snow script. Because the feature was only available to WordPress.com users and not self-hosted WordPress blogs, I took the falling snow code and made a plugin that exactly the same thing. All users needed to do was to download and activate the plugin to have beautiful falling snow flakes on the blogs.

Notes & Credits

The falling snow script used in this plugin is originally by Scott Schiller.

If it does not work for you. Check that your theme has the wp_footer() function call in footer.php. If it does not, add <?php wp_footer(); ?> just before the closing </body> tag.

Not been updated for a while but no need to when everything works. I've created many different sites in WordPress. Custom themes, DIVI etc - works on all sites so far.
